International award-winning PR and campaign strategist, Matthew Mensah is a philanthropist whose passion is humanitarian activism.
His over 15 year journey as an activist started in 2005 in West Africa, where he established Health PR agency that purely specialised in humanitarian affairs. These included working with orphanages and girls shelters and he was later selected to create a campaign for the UN World Food Program in war-torn Liberia and Sierra Leone to address promoting peace, stopping child hunger and peaceful voting for the President during that period. Matthew also created the concept for Catwalk the World, Fashion for Food campaign that went on to win the prestigious World Quality Commitment Award in Paris, making it the first African created humanitarian campaign to win an international award. He has been a recipient of an EMY African Humanitarian Award.
Gender Based Violence and child trafficking is at the top of his agenda evidenced through ACT Africa, based in South Africa is an Awareness of Child Trafficking organization, he has co-founded with Hilary Leong, where he is the Deputy Chairperson.
Rebranding Africa, where he is a co-founder is based in Accra, Ghana, specialises in concept creations, crisis management and soft landings into new markets across Africa.
He is highly focused on youth and has hosted a Youth Summit focusing on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which was supported by the President of Ghana, His Excellency Nana Akufo-Addo.
In 2016, he was appointed Ghana’s Ambassador for Tourism, Arts & Culture, by the then Minister of Tourism. He says “it is a privilege I cherish and honour.” Brand SA for their ‘Play Your Part’ campaign bestowed Matthew the honour of being the first West African to be appointed as an ambassador for Brand South Africa.
Professionally, he has studied Public Relations and Marketing at Guildhall University, Fashion, Promotion, Media at London College of Fashion and Business at Niels Brock Business School in Denmark.
