The Eswatini Antivenom Foundation combats snakebite emergencies by providing access to life-saving antivenom throughout the country. Founded with the mission to prevent deaths and disabilities from snakebites, they work to raise funds and establish antivenom banks to ensure timely treatment for victims, particularly in rural areas.
The workshop effort from the Eswatini Antivenom Foundation has been split into three. Firstly, Mrs Thea Litschka-Koen will present the history of the EAF and delve into the current objectives and projects of the organisation. An extensive breakdown of the snakes currently in Eswatini and the first aid measures that can be taken in the case of a snakebite. Lastly, there will be a snake display of various species of snakes for anyone to experience and learn more about.
